Successful lawyer Varvara Korchagina arrives in an elite residential community to visit her childhood friend, local police investigator Andrei Troitsky, and finds herself at the center of an investigation into the death of a local woman. With each step, the case becomes increasingly complex and intricate. Varvara begins to be haunted by the ghost of the dead girl. A graduating student of a Leningrad University college of law Maria Krapivina starts working in the Leningrad criminal investigation office.
